MSM1 Mid Side Machine

The MSM1 serves as a Mid/Side (MS) encoder and decoder, allowing you to process any stereo device connected to the insert points in either stereo or MS mode. When MS encoding/decoding is turned off, the MSM1 functions as a fully passive stereo unit. Activating MS mode engages the internal active circuitry for Mid/Side processing. The encoder and decoder sections can be used independently; however, for typical MS operation, both should be enabled.

The width control adjusts the level of the Side channel, allowing you to shape the stereo image from narrow to wide. It offers a 23-step gain range from -6.5 dB to +3.5 dB for precise and recallable settings. A dedicated pushbutton lets you instantly engage or bypass the width circuit for quick A/B comparisons. Additionally, separate mute buttons for the Mid and Side channels enable focused listening of either channel independently.
